The Body Shop Lip Gloss Love...

This little lovely is a gorgeous coral pink lip gloss by The Body Shop. The shade doesn't have a name but it is number 16. I really love this. It's become one of my absolute favourite glosses.

It's pretty standard in terms of packaging...but look at the cute hearts! Here's a look at the applicator

Pretty standard but I like how this feels soft and is quite bouncy when applying the product.

As for the gloss itself, well its lovely. Its got good pigmentation, isn't drying and leaves the most gorgeous sheen. I find wear time to be about 3 hours before I have to reapply.  The picture below shows it swatched. It is much more orange looking in the tube than it is when it's on - it leans more pinky - but it still delivers a lovely amount of colour.

The only downside to this product is its got a weird smell...like they've tried to cover up a really strong plastic smell with some sort of fruity scent but it hasn't quite worked. To be honest, it's not a nice smell but luckily I don't notice it when it's on my lips so it's not enough to put me off.

Despite the smell, these really are worth a look. I really like this and will definitely be looking at getting a few more of these.

Lovely Models Own...

Recently I decided to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer thats currently on cosmetics in Boots and treated myself to 3 nail polishes. One of the ones that i got was Models Own Mystic Mauve. I know I have said before that I wasn't that keen on Models Own but this colour was so pretty it just had to be mine!

Mystic Mauve is a lovely purple/silver. Its extremely reflective and was opaque in one coat...I LOVE it! It's just so pretty.... the picture below is 2 coats but it really didn't need it (please excuse crap polish application)

SO....SHINY.....

I also picked up this little number

Yep, thats the Max Factor mini nail polish in 45 Fantasy Fire. If you read beauty blogs regularly, or in fact, look at anything beauty related on the internet you will have seen this polish being raved about. Every blog I look on seems to have shown it at some point. Its also apparently been sold out everywhere. Well, since I've seen it online, i've been into my "local" Boots a few times and its always been in stock! I haven't had a chance to play with this yet but it looks so pretty...i'm just hoping I get on better with this coveted product than I did with the last one....

Jemma Kidd's All Over Radiance...

I've been a bad blogger recently! Life just got in the way and I didn't have the time to sit and do blog posts. Hopefully i'll get back into the habit now though.

I've had this little beauty for quite a while and I really love it

Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme in 02 Rose Gold is a gorgeous cream highlighter. It comes in a fairly large sized (10g worth) round container complete with a good sized mirror. The packaging is nice and simple - nothing to write home about. My only really criticism of it is that it seems to be a similar material to the NARS packaging which attracts dust and dirt and all manner of things to it meaning it can look quite dirty.

This has actually photographed a tad more orange than it is in real life - its a bit more beige, but when applied, it is the most gorgeous gold toned cream highlighter. This has a much harder texture than any of the other cream highlighters i've tried and i've noticed that the pigmentation is less than i'm used to. I also have to work quite hard to get the level of colour/highlight that I like.

That being said this is really lovely. Its subtle, easily buildable and very blendable. I think this will last a long time and I think this would look particularly lovely with a tan.

Swatched and blended above. This picture is true to colour - i'm not sure why this has photographed ok but the other one hasn't. You can see the lovely golden colour. I do really like this. Theres also another colour - Iced Gold, which from the pictures i've seen could potentially be similar (maybe a little cooler toned) than my Mac Pearl Cream Colour Base. I'm definitely interested in trying it as well. What I like the most about this product is its ability to be built up which is great for those odd days I want to go for a more subtle natural look.

Green With Envy...

Just a quick little post to show this nail polish. I usually tend to stick to higher end brands for my makeup, nail polish included. This isn't really for any other reason than I love the quality and adore the wonderful variety of colours. Despite that, i've been loving this recently. Its by Rimmel and is called Green with Envy

I love this. Its so shiny and reflective and wonderfully bright. Its a bit of a different colour for me because I'm always drawn towards the pinks but it makes a nice change and I really love it. Its the 60 seconds polish so it dries super fast (I wouldn't say its completely dry in a minute though). The above picture was two coats. Wear time for these is pretty average as well. I've also had this polish for a long while (well over a year) and it hasn't started to go gloopy yet which is great!

This polish is currently on sale at Superdrug for £2.99 down from £3.49.

A Pearly Mac Highlighter...

After what feels like an eternity of using powder highlighters, I have recently really fallen in love with liquid/cream ones again.

One of my absolute favourites is the Mac Cream Colour Base in Pearl

Cream Colour Bases are multi purpose, meaning that they can be used for practically anything. The shade that I have is Pearl which is a frosty cream shade, absolutely ideal for a highlight colour.

The texture of this is gorgeous. Its really creamy and a little goes a long way. I love to use this as a highlighter on both my cheeks and brow bone. It give the most gorgeous pearly sheen.

You can really see the gorgeous sheen in the picture above.

What I love about this is the intensity that you can get using very little product. It is entirely buildable but I would say that if you want a very subtle highlight, use a very light hand. It is easy to go overboard with this.

This is also great in terms of lasting power, it lasts through most of the day - a good 5 or 6 hours before I feel the need to touch up. I do think that if you did use too much of this it may slip off the face or make you look greasy but with the small amount I use I haven't had that problem. I really love this and I would definitely purchase again.

Fantastic Chanel...

I've been very bad at blogging lately. I've got absolutely no excuse for it except exhaustion taking over and it became the last thing on my mind. Hopefully I will rectify that this weekend though.

I've been wearing Chanel nail polish in 481 Fantastic quite a lot recently. It was one of the first Chanel polishes that I bought. I have to admit, its a little out of my comfort zone as I usually wear mostly pinks but I do really like this polish. Its a gorgeous burgundy red with a pinkish shimmer. I'm generally not a fan of red polishes and this is about as red as i'll go, I don't think i'd be comfortable with anything brighter.

On my nails, the shimmer doesn't really translate out of the bottle which is a shame but I still really like this. I think its perfect for the colder months (despite the unseasonably warm weather we've been getting here recently!).

Lasting time is better than average for Chanel, which i've found can chip as soon as they're applied. The picture below was taken after 3 days wear (I was far too lazy to take pictures after I just applied) and you can see how little its worn away. Please ignore my tiny pinky nail - my nails had gone like talons thanks to a combination of OPI Nail Envy and laziness in filing so when I finally filed them down, my pinky nail snapped as it was just too long!
